FANN

FEMALE ARTIST NEURODIVERSE NETWORK

FANN was created to support and connect neurodivergent female artists in Yorkshire and Manchester, helping women and non-binary individuals to navigate their challenges and celebrate their strengths.

In 2021, Kelly Munro-Fawcett, a neurodivergent actor & the Artistic Director of RedBobble Arts, gained a pot of funding from Arts Council England under the ‘Develop Your Creative Practice’ programme to research female ADHD. During lockdown, Kelly finally received her own formal diagnosis for ADHD and began to think about amalgamating her skills to support other neurodiverse people of marginalised genders.

Inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Moai’, a system of social support groups, FANN aims to create a similar space for female artists to share knowledge and opportunities. Through creating this support system, can we increase our longevity in the arts? Can we be more sustainable? Can we be happier and healthier? Can we collaborate and learn from one another? Although the pandemic delayed progress, we remain committed to developing this community and securing funding to support its growth!

This is a space for connection and shared experiences. Whether you’re an artist, a creative professional, or looking for support, we’d love to hear from you!
